A nice
balance between work and play.
Not very long ago, I visited Argao
for a film project that was set to be taken in my friend’s house, Nikki (this
is me and her) together with our film crew. Early at dawn, we rode on the bus
and got to the place around 9am. Had our brunch and started shooting videos.
After a while, I got tired so I
decided to take a nap on the hand-made bamboo chair enough for a single person
to lay his entire body in it. When my eyes were closed, I heard birds singing
their song and memories flashed like thunders and hit me. It made me miss my
childhood in Bogo: the familiar smell of plants and earth, the war of cool and
warm wind brushing against my build. Just every time, I’m in a rural place I
remember my old town Bogo.
I woke up from my nap realizing
Argao is so simple, yet so beautiful. It was so green and earthly, the fact
that I was only there for five hours and I started to fall in love with the
place.
The next morning, we traveled by bus
to get to the beach because no other vehicles are available. But the beach was
not very far away, just 15-20 minutes from where we stayed. Aha, it rhymes!
We walked, bought some ice for the
drinks, and walked again until we heard the splash of the sea and found the
shore.
Dark sand, pebble beach, fresh air,
clear water, and nice Nipa hut worth 100pesos rent for us to stay and keep our
bags. What a nice simple place! Like always, I couldn’t resist the water. It’s
calling my soul. It wants me. I enjoyed it with my friends and had a lot of fun
splashing around like kids again.
Although, I did not go to so much
places in Argao but coming over and experiencing a piece of it is worth
keeping.
