First Time Me and My Brother Traveled Far Away From Home
Actually, it’s not that far, it’s approximately 150 miles away from home. Above all, it’s was a miracle because we thought we were not allowed to go since we look like we’re still babies. But my brother made a quite convincing act just to hear the beautiful ‘Yes, you can go’ from mom.
The perks of having a friend who owns a resort: you can have free accommodation, tour, transportation, and the food.
We stayed in Cherinicole Beach Resort in the beautiful island of Siargao. It’s only the first time I visit this place and I can already see a new candidate to be called home. A home of the waves. The resort was named after the daughter of the owner, which was my brother’s friend, Cherinicole. She invited us to stay for not just a week, but 2 weeks. I was so excited because the longest vacation day I’ve had was only 3 days and 2 nights (3D2N). Now, it’s longer than expect. Love it. Thank you, God. He gives blessings through people. Amazing.
Fine white sand, waves crashing to the shore, the sunset, our first day was all about walking along the shore, chasing waves, taking picture, visiting other resorts we pass by, and more picture taking. If only you could survive traveling forever without having to worry about money, I would travel the world until I can discover every thing, every places, every caves, every culture – everything.
Once, we got to our destination, the famous Cloud 9, I quickly fell in love with the place. I have never seen surfers in real life, only in karaoke music videos. Most of them are men with long hair, sun kissed complexion, some have tattoos, others have anklets at the bottom of their legs, and all of them are cool. I WANT TO SURF!!! I really wanted to shout that out to the sky but I don’t want attention, so kept it on my head instead.
Pretty is totally not the term for fun in the ocean floor. Sharp corals, spiky sea urchins, and more sharp corals await you at the bed of the water. Thank goodness, Ate Cheri lends me her water shoes so I wouldn’t have to scratch my feet with the piercing corals and stones.
You’ll definitely know when to go back to the resort, if the surfing tower is without people and so as the shore. We didn’t take long to spend some time lounging in the tower, it was already getting dark and it was time for dinner. Next day will begin our adventure of the other places is Siargao Island.
